Coral Coast in Reverse

The trip started with a long train ride on the sunlander to Mackay, then leaving the same day. We pass the young endeavour in the night as we weave in and out of the islands on route to Bundaberg. Next we make our way through the Great Sandy Straights a beautiful area , where the radio told us there has been a sighting of  a crocodile, which is the first sighted south of Rockhampton.

Navigating the Wide Bay Bar, which is a a mass of churning water, with cresting and breaking waves as we make our way out, back into the Coral Sea. We race down to Southport with black clouds on our tail.

Friendly and welcoming at Southport, we wait out the weather then head off to Sydney with the current, got to love that current! Dodging tankers and fishing boats all the way down. We arrive in Sydney with the sun setting behind the harbor bridge, couldn’t of timed it better!
